The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) is the governing body for the sport of rugby union in Ireland and both its Men’s and Women’s teams have enjoyed considerable success in recent years.

Sotic have been partnering with Irish Rugby since 2007 and have recently worked with them to augment its digital marketing toolkit with the inclusion of our Liveblog product.

A liveblog is a single article that is consistently updated by content creators with the most recent updates appearing in real time. They provide a useful way of telling stories characterised by incremental developments and multiple layers – the perfect example being a live sports event.

They’re also interactive, allowing creators to link out to other coverage and to bring in user generated content in the form of social media posts and multimedia. Crucially, because the liveblog is hosted within the website, it brings traffic to the most flexible, owned platform where fans and users will see calls to action around buying, joining and signing up as well as being able to delve into the news archive and other content.

Sotic's Liveblog features & functionality

Sotic’s Liveblogging solution is intuitive and easy to use, key when staff are working in-stadium on a busy match or event day. There is also a mobile app to post content on the move.

It’s SEO-friendly, scalable, supports 17 languages (and counting!) and can be customised to compliment your website design.

Liveblog can also pay its way. It is the perfect vehicle for sponsorship branding and can link with your AdSense account to provide advertising inventory throughout your feed.
